Community Led Events

Each year, there are many wonderful third-party fundraising events held to raise money for local YANA families. We are incredibly grateful for the energy and dedication of so many contributors. Listed below are the community-led events that are currently taking place in the Comox Valley in support of YANA.

New Years Eve Prohibition Party at the White Whale

Saturday, December 31, 2016

Get your glad rags on and join the swell folks at your favourite juice joint, the White Whale, for some New Years Eve hoofin’ and hooch (the kind with bubbles). From 8:30pm to 2:00am it’ll be jumpin’, so come whoop it up and ring in 2017.

$5 from each ticket will go directly to YANA, now that’s the cat’s meow!

Comox Fire Rescue Christmas Tree Chipping For YANA

Saturday, January 7 & Sunday, January 8, 2017

From 10am to 4pm, on both days, our great men and women at Comox Fire Rescue will be helping clear out the last bits of Christmas to make room for a new year!

Bring your Christmas tree to the Comox Fire Department, where your tree will be chipped and disposed of, for a donation to YANA. While you are there join them for a free BBQ, the grilled Tim bits are highly recommended!

Good for the environment and good for the community!

For a minimum $5 donation, they will even pick your tree up!

This great fundraiser lets you clean out your closets for a cause. Our amazing volunteer, Loretta, will sort and deliver, gently-used donated clothing, to local consignment stores that have accounts for YANA. To join this event on Facebook click here. Or connect with Loretta directly by emailing
